Many people only know about the espresso machine, but there are many other ways to brew your coffee. For many people, coffee has become an essential morning drink. Many are accustomed to a quick cup of coffee from their nearest coffee shops. However, not all of us have quick access to coffee shops. Thankfully, you can make your own cup of coffee at home pretty easily.

Here are some simple, popular ways you can use to brew yourself a cup of coffee.

The drip method

This is one of the oldest and among the most popular ways to make coffee. It is also one of the cheapest ways to make your coffee at home. The drip brewing method is actually very simple.

The coffee is made by pouring water over some coffee grounds and allowing that to drip over a cup. With this method, a paper filter of some sort is used to filter the coffee. Paper filters keep all coffee grounds contained while all the flavorful water sips through the cup.

There is no effort needed when using the drip method. Basically, you let gravity do its job of passing the coffee into your cup. There is sheer satisfaction in making coffee with this traditional method. It comes out very authentic and gives you great results. You need medium-fine ground coffee for this method to work optimally and it takes an average of 3 minutes.

Chemex

Chemex

This method uses an elegant, well-built flask that dates back to 1941 and was designed by Dr. Peter Schlumbohm. The Chemex us a glass flask that uses a paper filter to make coffee. One advantage this has over the simple drip method is that it can make huge batches of coffee at a time.

You could make up to 10 cups of coffee depending on the size of your flask. However, you have to pour water into the Chemex flask slowly as it drips through. It takes an average of three minutes to make a full flask of coffee with this method.

Espresso

This method requires an espresso machine, but you already knew that. It is a popular way to make quick, super-strong shots of coffee. The expresso machine pushes pressurized water through very finely ground coffee then through a filter and into a cup.

Espresso

Today, there are multiple types of espresso machines available in the market: some more automated than others. There is no one way to use an espresso machine since they can be very different. It takes an average of 3 minutes for an espresso machine to warm up and less than 40 seconds to make an espresso shot.

Keep in mind that an espresso machine produces sharp, strong coffee. It is the perfect way to make coffee for people who want a high dose of caffeine. You can mix the shots with premade creamers like the Super coffee creamer or international delight coffee creamer to make your coffee easier to take. If you don’t mind the bitter coffee taste, you can take the shot by itself.

Stovetop Moka Pot

The stovetop mocha uses the same principles as an espresso machine. The Moka top is an authentic Italian coffee machine that has been around for more than 80 years. Hot steam passes through coffee on the lower part of the pot. You can use the pot to produce double or single shots of coffee. The pot is easy to clean, and portable making it great for outdoor activities too.

Instant coffee

This is the fastest way to make a homemade cup of coffee. For instant coffee, you won’t need any fancy machines to make your hot cup of coffee. Instant coffee comes in powder form. All you have to do is add hot water to the powder in a cup.

Instant coffee is made of ground, roasted coffee that is dehydrated making it easy to use. It takes just a couple of minutes to make yourself an instant coffee. This is probably the easiest method to use. You can get instant coffee in a variety of roast blends and flavors depending on the company.

You can also get instant coffee in the form of coffee bags. Just like tea bags, roasted coffee is placed in filter bags meant to be soaked in a hot cup of water. The coffee inside the small filter bags is made with actual coffee grounds, providing you with a more flavorful coffee as compared to instant coffee.
